This cache has been placed with the true adventurer in mind. It
requires special skills and equipment to access. It is called "Drop
Dead Gorgeous" because of the gorgeous views and other reasons that
will be explained below.
The cache is located near Blackheath in the Blue Mountains . The
co-ordinates given are the exact location of the cache, but you
will find it requires Abseiling/Rock climbing equipment for a 30
metre descent. The Stash is sitting, sheltered and comfortable,
somewhere inside an old car that has been pushed to its' death and
rests on a narrow rock ledge. The ledge is still high above the
valley floor so it is not safely accessible by any other means. A
rather interesting and challenging place you will agree. In the
cache, amongst other things, you will find some energy bars which
you may need for the difficult ascent back out. Also the first
finder will find some cash to help pay for your petrol or gear
hire. This should be an exciting find but don't attempt it without
the proper skills. I have rated the overall difficulty as 5 even
though it is easy to find once you get there.
Many thanks to SNAFUADV (Colin and Narelle) for their great help
installing the stash.

August 1 by Rainbow Spirit (644 found) satanas 666 and myself had to admit defeat on this one, we tried two different scrambling approaches, but decided that our lives weren't worth a cache find. This is one where the abseiling approach would be the safer way to go.
[view this log] | March 9 by ruffasgutts4x4 (1867 found) One month on and another RDO, yep you guessed it back I came! Much more equipped (one long rope) and a new partner. Unfortunately Deputy Dog could not be with me this time, he had to.....well I should'nt use four letter words, but that ugly word that always gets in the way of good caching time for most, nuff said. . Homedg was with me and we spent a little time deciding the best way to approach this one, safely. That done we soon found the right height to be working our way along and the rest is history. The snuggly hidden ammo tin was a welcome reward for a puffed, muddy and scratched up RAGS. Didn't see Homedg's coin inside but perhaps he was hiding it from me? We took some happy snaps on our way in and out, and the funny thing about it was that we both found different ways back out than those we used to get in! As Homedg says the views were great, once the mist lifted, something Deputy Dog and I had been denied on our last attempt. Certainly up there with the most difficult caches I've attempted though quite a bit shorter, I love a good rock climb to spite not being too agile on my feet Thanks for bringing us here 2dogs great to see such an old cache still exists, intact, with some swaps as well! Took Nothing out left nothing in. Cheers my 1st 5/5 cache woohoo!

| March 9 by homedg (1216 found) The opening line of this cache description reads "This cache has been placed with the true adventurer in mind". Well today my caching mate RAG4X4 were exactly that "ADVENTUROUS". We are not as skilled as some when it comes to the art of SRT, but using a single rope we cautiously navigated our way to the cache. The views are awesome here and the adventure was just as great. Top One. Thanks for the cache. TNLNSL
[view this log] | February 13 by ruffasgutts4x4 (1867 found) I came here today with Deputy Dog to have a crack at this but on the way there I had a fair idea I'd struggle with the wet conditions, we walked in close then I left Deputy Dog and continued a little further on my own eventually ending up below the required spot by the time I got back up I was so exhausted and the area was so much damper and windier that it just wasn't worth the risk. Now I know what I'll to get this one though, and will be back soon! So rather than call it a DNF I fell about 30 metres short of the search so prefer to call this one a work in progress.
[view this log] | January 25 by Craig D. (537 found) Wow, what a great cache! It's not every day that you can park your car within 35m of a 5/5 cache. Jumped out and sussed the area, before taking the plunge. Ended up a bit too far down, and checked out some of the other cars; I counted at least 10 on the lower slopes, all in a various state of disrepair.Huffed and puffed on the ascent up to a higher level, and after a bit of a stroll along the appropriate ledge I found the trust Valiant. Maybe it was trying to join its bigger brother down the hill? (V8 Regal coupe). The cache was found quickly in a logical position, and I signed the log at 5:30pm. TNLN. Thanks for a great cache, which was yet another worthy find for the Well Rounded Cacher competition.
