The Bruce Trail of course is one of the best things about the
outdoors in this part of the world. On its way south from the tip
of the Bruce to Niagara, it wiggles through south-western Ontario
passing through or close by many large towns -- illustrating the
eco-tourist's credo that Canada's wilderness is accessible to all.
Anyhow, this memorial cairn commemorates a ten-day walk from
Tobermory to Owen Sound undertaken as part of the Commonwealth
Expedition in Canada -- who knew! To log this find, please tell me:
What year the commemorative walk took place, how many nations were
represented by walkers, and who's Gold Award did all the walkers
possess? For bonus points, add a photo of a team member standing
beside the cairn.
