IgnotusPeverell: Greetings. I'm IgnotusPeverell, one of the volunteer reviewers for geocaches submitted to Geocaching.com.

I can't find any recent responses from the Cache Owner about maintaining this cache which makes it appear they are either unwilling or unable to maintain this geocache. Cache maintenance includes: replacing broken or missing containers, replacing full or wet logs, updating any changes to the text, updating coordinates, removing the needs maintenance attributes, enabling the listing, and more. Check out all of a geocache owner's responsibilities here. This cache is being archived, and removed from the active cache listings.

Geocache Description:

Space, the final frontier, these are the voyages of the species Geocacher, their mission, to seek out a little black box, to find the coordinates that lead to it, to boldly explore the space around the VLA!

Deep in the great open spaces of the Plains of San Augustin, lies the Very Large Array, the world's premier radio astronomy observatory. Situated to recieve the faintest of signals of the universe's most enigmatic objects are 27 radio telescope dishes, which resolve images that pierce the veil of mystery that clouds deep space.

Hidden within the vast triange formed by its three long arms is your target, a black plastic box (see pic) filled with not moon rocks, not a quasar, not interstellar neutrinos, but...Toys! Small action figures, cars, airplanes and others await your discovery, making this a very child friendly cache. Karma Chamelion, the Blue lizard of happiness travelbug is also included as original contents. Do be careful in opening the box, don't open it too hard to keep from breaking the hinges and thereby preventing the box from closing!

But where is it? It's not at the coordinates at the top of the page, thats where to turn off of Hwy 60 to enter the facility. Follow the signs to the visitor center, that's where you'll have to go to find the answers to the ten questions about space and the Very Large Array. Answering these ten questions will assemble the Deep Space coordinates and send you across the galaxy (or at least a part of New Mexico) to the cache!

Write the answer to the question in the spaces provided. Then find the letter of the answer that is called for. The last digit of that letter's numer in the alphabet corresponds to the number in the coordinate of the cache.

Example Question: __ (__) __ __ __ is the final frontier.

Answer SPACE, the question calls for the second letter, it is the 16th letter of the alphabet, therefore the number in the coordinate would be 6. a slash ,/, denotes a space between words in the answer.

If the answer is a number, whatever digit is called for is what the coordinate digit is.

The questions are in order to fill out the coordinate
N 34.AB.CDE W 107.FG.HIJ

All answers are in the displays in the VLA visitor center, which is open every day from 8AM to sunset. Admission is FREE!

Good luck, may the force be with you!!
