Looking out over the Jack Pine Flats from the road up to Whitetail Butte
Whitetail Butte rises suddenly from the surrounding lowlands of the Jack Pine Flats south of Priest Lake. The views from the top are outstanding, especially given the relatively low elevation of the butte. To the north and east, looking toward the Priest Lake basin, one sees the rugged granite outcroppings of the Selkirk Crest. To the south, Priest River winds its way past scenic farms and forests. The butte is a great place to have a picnic if the mosquitos don't interfere!
The cache is a mega Bison container. It is hidden in the brush within 10' of the Butte's high point.
