Geocache Description:

Near Ulan coal mine, North of Mudgee, New South Wales

Reference Map = CMA 1:25,000 Wollar

The stash (tupperware style container with a green lid) is at the base of a couple of native pines in what shows on the map as a clearing but is now covered in regrowth.

Best approach is from Ulan-Wollar Road. The area is fenced but I suspect it is crown reserve and will one year become part of the open-cut coal mine... but in the meantime!

There are a few remains of buildings and old quarries nowhere near the stash and some old bush tracks in the scrub but otherwise no traces of recent human or domestic stock use.

The terrain is mildly hilly mostly covered with fairly open woodland. The regrowth area is more scrubby but not overly dense.

The stash has some lollies and goodies, some info brochures on the new Geodetic Datun Australia and some blatant advertising!!!

Cheers

Alex
