This trip is for 4WD vehicles but fairly easy driving. The location is very close to Graffiti Rock 1 (IONIS Thompson Book, Page 18). The cache is on the climb to the tumulus. This is one for most of the family, the exception being small children.
The following is an extract from the log of Scarinian. Though I had drawn the enchanted Sword of Scalim I found little need for it, a firestorm had wreaked havoc in the area providing a small window of opportunity to seek the prize. I seized it. I approached the Runes of Merlin (now known as Graffiti Rock 1; N24 19.011 E45 38.380) very easily and read the wise words hidden in the pictures. I immediately felt uncomfortable and spun round to find myself facing a Scalith, I now knew why the firestorm and been so successful but a quick thrust with Scalim caught him unawares a down the rock he tumbled. I then recalled the foretelling from the Wise Old Hag From Kingdom “ When you reach the Runes of Merlin look NE about 270 metres and there amongst the rocks lies the end of your quest. The prize itself is a tupperware box from the land of Riyadh. Find it and your task is accomplished”.
Before you look for the cache explore Graffiti Rock and admire the very old drawings supposedly between 2000-1000 BC. Once you have found the cache go on up to the summit and see the tumulus sometimes called the Sundance Warrior. The Tumulus dates from the Bronze Age about 2000 BC and then look for the rather strange and so far unexplained line of triangular stone cairns snaking away from it.
