This carrier based interceptor Grumman F-14"Tomcat" is retired at the Palm Springs Air Museum.

This particular F-14 was assigned to a colorful squadron with an amazing combat history. To keep credit for the log email the squadron name to me separate from the cache log. On this day, Feb 5 2003 a memorial was held at this location for the crew of the space shuttle Columbia who were lost on reentry. The lost man formation of T 34 Mentors of the Dragon Squadron from March AFB flew by in tribute. I dedicate this cache to the memory of these brave souls who reached for the stars.

We found this cache just as the sun was coming up this morning, well, it wasn't really up yet (we're still on East Coast time). Thanks for showing us this awesome area. Desert caching is so much fun!

Just arrived 20 minutes at the other side of the airport. I had my eyes set on this cache for a while and today finally had a chance to "find" it. Great location for a virtual cache!. Will email the answer.
