This carrier based interceptor Grumman F-14"Tomcat" is retired at
the Palm Springs Air Museum.
This particular F-14 was assigned to a colorful squadron with an
amazing combat history. To keep credit for the log email the
squadron name to me separate from the cache log. On this day, Feb 5
2003 a memorial was held at this location for the crew of the space
shuttle Columbia who were lost on reentry. The lost man formation
of T 34 Mentors of the Dragon Squadron from March AFB flew by in
tribute. I dedicate this cache to the memory of these brave souls
who reached for the stars.
