Let's Do Some Meetin'. October 18-20.
THE EVENT HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED!
The above coordinates are to the parking
lot at Evangeline Camp. This is off Mecena Rd which is off of Hwy 28
West in Central La. From the parking lot the primitive camping area is
about a 2 minute hike in. When you start down the trail, it will fork
off just a few hundred feet in. Take the left fork and head
downhill. You will see the camp area straight ahead.
The next set of coordinates are for those
with off road vehicles who want to drive in: 31° 13.860N and 092°
36.582. A truck -non four-wheel drive- can make it. When you drive
in the road and the trail forks, stay to right. Look for the topo to go
downhill. You will know you are headed in the right way.
I will have some caches set up for
us. A night hunt, a multi, and a traditional. Nothing too
glorious, but fun.

putting a log on this event cache. After it is said and done, I will be
posting the new caches for you to log as a find when you get back home.
The schedule will be loose. But we
should meet at 9:00 am Saturday
morning to get in our new finds and put out camp. You may also want to
find some of the area caches while you are in town and you are free to do this
also. I would love suggestions of things for us to do. Like I
said, this is OUR event and I don't plan on being the "Event
Nazi". We won't have a syllabus or schedule to follow. Just
good fun, food, and drinks. (No bottles please.)
I am really looking forward to meeting
you guys (those I have not met) and I really hope to get a solid Association
of cachers together to do some great things. I have a few ideas I plan
on sharing with you guys that evening. I really look forward to your
feedback.
This is my first attempt to get something
like this together, so if you think I forgot something zip an email to me and
I will edit this event to get it added in.
I WILL have the shirts there. The
prices are to cover the cost of the shirt, all the colors (this one hurt), and
shipping the shirts to me. The shirts are WHITE with Russell's modified
Art work printed on the left chest. I will have short and long sleeves
available in a VERY HIGH QUALITY shirt. The new Z-Tee. PLEASE let
me know in advance if you want some. I will be sending the numbers
to the printer as late as possible. I don't want to get stuck with too
many shirts. Let me know the SIZE, NUMBER, and SHORT/LONG sleeve
preference. Prices are $12.00 for short sleeve and $14 for long
sleeve. Add $1 to XXL sizes. I will have M - XXL sizes
available.
I will also have a couple new travel bugs to make it a little more interesting. Not sure how we will do this, but I figure the first one to see the cache gets the bug. Then it is own to some other cache. One will be the "Prancing Pony" (Some may recognize this name...) which is already in the system. The other will be "Jeepin For Freedom" which is not in the system as of today.
