Ben Pid: Checked cache today got stopped by owner of house too and explained the situation he went and found it and threw it away! what an absolute .......... he admitted it to me - Unbelieveble. But we can't moan really, its a little private - Hoped you all enjoyed going to this location and for some of you finding the cache.... I won't be replacing it because of the locals.

Geocache Description:

Fleet Marston is a small parish of three farms and several cottages which lies on the main road from Aylesbury to Bicester. This is the sort of place you drive by every day without noticing something of interest hiding right by you.

Hidden really is the best word to describe this cache. After living in Aylesbury for over 15 years this place was totally unknown to me until pointed out. Fleet Marston is secretly home to a now forgotten and weathered church. Built in the 12th and 13th centuries & once the centre of the old village it now resides alone, surrounded by scenic fields and a circle of trees. Most interesting about this location is the fact that according to parish records the population dropped from 160 to 30 between 1614 and 1627. With very little information available on the subject, it seems these really were "Forgotten souls".



A key to the church can be obtained from the nearby farm shop, where parking and access to the Public Footpath is possible, Go to these Co-ords: N51 50.399 W000 52.558 and enjoy the quiet stroll to the cache.

If you decide to take the opposite way across the field, please be aware this isn't public land.


The Church isn't big inside and is no longer used for any regular service....so those forgotten souls could be anywhere..... Please be extremely careful here to replace the cache how it was found. Read the clue and you may understand why....
