Geocache Description:

The object of this locationless cache is to find and photograph sculptures or bas-relief carvings that are part of (if you will pardon the oxymoron) 'living rock'.

By that, I mean rock in its natural location, not in a city park, museum, or a frieze over a building's entrance. This has to be a carving or statue cut right into the rock. And it has to be of an appreciable size, not a carving the size of a football.

The most famous examples of this would be South Dakota's Mount Rushmore and Georgia's Stone Mountain. Carvings/sculptures that are under construction (ie the Crazy Horse Memorial) can be logged.

The usual rules for logging a locationless find apply - one log per cacher, one log per sculpture or carving. The GPSr has to be visible somewhere in the picture. The coordinates can be from where the picture was taken.
I'll allow 7 days to upload a picture for those of us (like me) who don't have digicams. After that, there's an email warning and then the log will be deleted in three days.

The example I have is the Fisherman's Memorial, in Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia, Canada. It is a depiction of fishermen at work, carved into the exposed bedrock by William E de Garthe, a Peggy's Cove artist. It is approximately 100 feet long.

A chart of all the sculptures logged this far can be found at the link below. This should save having to scroll thru all the logs in the future.
