Blanding Visitor Center Virtual Cache

This cache has been archived.

Highpointer: According to recent visitors, this site is no longer active. As I don't live in the area, I am unable to maintain it. According to a message from a recent visitor, "As others have said the museum was cleared out about a year ago and all info with it. This is the work of the new city manager, apparently."

There are several other caches within close vicinity of this site, so please find these caches, and you are welcome to place your own (regular, multi, or puzzle).

Geocache Description:

If you are traveling on US 191 in southeastern Utah through the town of Blanding, learn about some local history by stopping at the Blanding Visitor Center. It is open from 8 am to 8 pm Monday through Saturday, and is closed on Sundays. Ask for a free gift pack and pick up some brochures.

In order to successfully claim this cache, visit the museum, sign the guest list at the front desk with your team name, and e-mail me, at Ken@Highpointer.com, the answers to the following questions after visiting (no internet "finds"):

1) What is the original name of the town of Blanding?

2) Who were the first settlers of Blanding?

3) Who made the "Hole in the Rock" centennial quilt, or who is the owner of this quilt?

4) What is the brand name of the can of coffee in the Clarence Rogers collection?

5) What is the brand name and type of mechanical device (now obsolete) to the right of the oil lamp in the glass display case closest to the front entrance?

6) Who was Blanding's first Schoolmarm and Librarian?

Please don't post the answers here, even if encrypted. Sometimes exhibits are changed or are removed, so if you can't find one of the answers, simply skip that question. If you like, suggest a replacement question and answer for me to update the cache.

Note: If the answers to any of the above questions appear to be missing, then simply skip that question. If you like, you can suggest a replacement question with answer.
