Located near the highest point on Long Island.
Start at the end of Reservior Road by the boarded up Ranger station. If the gate is open, you can go a bit further and park in the lot. From there proceed up to Jayne's Hill.
Jaynes Hill has a rich history. Walt Whitman was born at its foot and was reputed to have climbed it several times.
It was originally called 'Manetto' by the Indians. It was also called Oakley and High Hill (which is the designation on the USGS Quad). Jayne’s Hill, honors an area pioneer family.
Part one of the cache is a pill vial containing the coords for part two. Part two is a 2.2 litre Rubbermaid container. The original contents were the usual trinkets from other caches, and some donations from the kids.
Point of interest for you benchmark hunters - there are a couple of old USGS benchmarks at the top of the hill. They aren't listed online here, but the nearby water tower is.
