Please note: To use the services of geocaching.com, you must agree to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

The difficulty and terrain have a rating of ~1.5 because there are so many interesting ways to approach the Geocache. It can be easy and/or difficult depending on many factors (you will see).
When in doubt bring your boots!

This is a beautiful area for a hike with friends and family! You will see lots of trees, diverse land features and some elevation (something we don’t see much of in the Chicagoland area).

A compass may be helpful when the canopy is thicker. Take your time and explore the area. You will find plenty of interesting artifacts amongst the vegetation.

Long pants, boots, compass and bug spray are most likely needed for this one! Please note there is Poison Ivy in the area.

Please help keep our parks beautiful and pack out some trash on your way out.

Note: There is private property in the area, which is identified by signs. Not all borders are marked clearly.

Found this cache on my first official day of geocaching more than 6 years ago. Very cool to come back with gxsilver and see that this historic cache is still here! Looked through the old log book and found my log from March 2003 in it!

Find #3300 (and the second oldest active cache) while on a unplaned trip to Schaumburg. Took me 11 hours to get here, then I had to find a library for internet access, the Red Roof Inn only had a wifi hot spot, but my laptop was at home. Got the needed information, then off to find the cache. After starting out taking the wrong path, I corrected myself and took one of the hardest ways to the cache, it was a long night, I was in a hurry, and should have just followed the nice trails. Grabbed a Cache Movers GC to move West and did not have anything to leave in place of the GC. Took the easy trail back to the parking lot and noticed a lot of people parked in their vehicles sitting in the parking lot. The items in the cache were a little damp. Thanks for keeping this old cache going.

Wow, who would have thought 9 1/2 years later this cache would still be here to find. I'm glad it was and so are the other 6 cachers who made the trip from the Quad Cities to find it. It was quite the event, thank you for keeping this cache going and I hope it's here for many more years to come! TFTC:)
