The suspect in the shooting was apprehended 2-days later
in California, and was sentenced to death by lethal injection on
August 18, 1998.
My primary reason for making this a virtual is simply to
increase awareness of the impact an officer death has on his/her
agency, as well as outside agencies. Unlike 'Fallen Heroes', this
is a memorial to a single officer, rather than for all of the
fallen officers in DPS history.

Update: 01-15-04. I added the Dangerous Area info simply
because the memorial is adjacent to a highway. While there is
adequate room to pull over safely, you never know.
