On our travels on the french canals, we've met plenty of old public
wash-houses (places where people came to wash their clothes). We
think it would be interesting to collect pictures of more of those,
and we also are curious to know if there exist something similar in
other parts of the world.
To log this cache you need to find an old (minimum 100 years)
public wash-house used for washing of clothes (a lavoir). Supply
your log with pictures of the washhouse and your GPS. If it's
possible you might also write a short description of the wash-house
and it's history.
As an example we've uploaded pictures of the old wash-house in
Tonnere (France). This place is called La Fosse Dionne. It's told
that there lives a big snake at the bottom and several divers have
died while exploring the source. The cache-coordinates N47° 51.398
/ E3° 58.243 are from this wash-house.
One find per geocacher, each lavoir can only be logged once.
