Welcome to Seashore State Park's FIRST Geocache
Seashore State Park (aka First Landing) is located in the
northeast corner of the City of Virginia Beach only a few miles
north of the main beachfront.
There are several ways into the park but I recommended using the
64th Street entrance. You can avoid paying for driving in the park
by parking just outside the gate in the residential area. The
parking spaces for hikers/bikers just inside the gate is limited
anyway and the park fee is really for those launching boats further
in the park at the boat ramp. Did I mention bikers? Yes, you can
get close to the stash by bicycle but you will have to ditch the
bike to reach the treasure (park rules).
I recommend hiking in. If you use the main trail to head toward
the stash there is a beautiful scenic trail back out along Broad
Bay. There is a nice marsh overlook at N 36 54.409 W 76 01.810 and
a great view of Broad Bay from White Hill at N 36 54.123 W 76
01.673. If you want to take the scenic route in rather than on the
way out, walk down the road toward the boat ramp and look for the
Long Creek Trail entrance to the right.
The stash is located behind a large tree. Good Luck.
