This yellow bench has the first of a series of educational panels describing the history and ecology of this area. From this creekside bench, go to the paved pedestrian/bike path. Follow it and read the panels until you come upon an historical bronze plaque describing what happened at this site many years ago. From the information provided on the historical plaque, determine the following:
A = 2nd digit of the year this explorer camped here
B = the 3rd digit of the year the historic plaque was placed here
C = the 2nd digit of the last day of the encampment.
D = the 4th digit of the year the cross was erected.
E = the difference between the 2nd and 3rd digits of the year the cross was erected.
XY = the number of the month the explorers camped here.
Z = the sum of the 1st and 3rd digits of the year the plaque was placed here.
After reading the information on the educational panels (Note: there are 3 more panels on the other side of the bridge), proceed to the cache location using the information obtained above. The cache coordinates are:
N 37 deg, 26.RST W 122 deg, 10.XYZ where:
R = A + C
S = C + D
T = E
