Geocache Description:

This is a old phosphate mining area turned into a park. (open 6am-6pm) Don't even think about taking the baby stroller on this one even though the cache is only .25 miles away from the parking area. The difficulty is the trail near the cache. The main purpose of this park is fishing. There is a big reservoir that is used for swimming and fishing. If you never been here before, take a drive through the area and check it out.

You can park in the wrong spot and have a very hard time finding the cache, so let's get you parked right. Once in the entrance, go straight till you come to Sacred Hill Dr. make a left and go all the way to the end and park... (around N27°55.712' W82°09.950') there, that was easy. Now if you look north, you will see the man-made Sacred Hills. That is the direction you will want to go.

Your GPSr will want you to go more west but follow the trails (lot's of them)north westward till you can come out onto a paved road. Now you're going to say, why didn't I just park around here? Well, this is where they unload the horses and aren't suppose to park here. OK... if you come out to the pave road in the right spot, you will see a small picnic area to the south (left). Stay north of the picnic area and start paying attention to your GPSr. You will see a trail to follow.

If your GPSr is working properly, you will be on a man-made, 2' wide mini-mountain trail with shear drops of 25' or more on each side!! You could get hurt if for some reason you went off the narrow path in some places, but it is a trail and has been walked many times. Just keep following the trail. The path is a 'little' up and down.. you will need your legs in good shape also. The cache is near a 'lower' area of the path, BUT you will still have to go DOWN away from the path to get to the cache.

The cache is a standard green ammo container, filled with the misc. things that makes going after a cache worth the trip. (well, maybe not) Like toys, rain poncho, playing cards... did I say toys?

Have fun, but watch out for the spiders.
