Geocache Description:

On Lake Havasu near the Bill Williams river. A fun diversion if you have a boat. See below if you don't. No further hints for boaters.

Based on recent ratings discussions on the forum, I am rating this for the land based approach since a boat is not strictly required. Otherwise, it would be a 5 for terrain since a boat is specialized equipment.

I chose this island because it is a VERY short swim (maybe 30-40 feet) from shore. Since I still can't paddle my kayak but wanted to do an island cache, this is it. This cache was placed without a boat. Also, I wanted other folks who are aqua challenged (no boat) to be able to play. However, the challenge then becomes getting to the lake shore in the first place. Three to three and a half terrain stars if you find the old mine road and the correct burro trail. A solid four stars for terrain if you don't. Hints below. Safe parking off the highway at 34 18.611 / 114 06.159

This is a white topped rubbermaid container, well hidden from land and water to avoid unintentional attention. The cache contains: welcome sheet, log book, waterproof map of Lake Havasu, mini leatherman, calculator, waterproof matches, 4 AA batteries, a pen light, and a chums eyewear retainer.

I really like the rugged scenery in this area. Hope you do too.
