This is one of a series of caches in the Mt Carmel Conservancy.
Well, where does one begin....

We were out doing a day of cache site hunting when we came across this conservancy. After driving all the way up and loving every moment of it - we decided to head back down again when suddenly....that weird knocking sound we'd been hearing on the bakkie for the last six weeks decided to make itself known!

4 Hours later, a broken balljoint on the wishbone of the bakkie, a 1km hike to cellphone reception, and a gallant rescue attempt by our "Fish Eagle" in shining armour and we finally made it back to civilization. A really interesting thing is that we were so far off the beaten track that had we not had our GPSr with us to give Fish Eagle our coords, I dont know if they would have found us!!What a day!

Fish Eagle had only one demand for their gallant rescue mission and that was that we lay a cache at the breakdown site - hence this cache (and its broken bolt from the balljoint as proof)

Please note that the road isn't that bad - and had we seen to the strange knocking sound 6 weeks earlier, we would never have ended up with a breakdown!

Thanks Fish Eagle - you are stars!!!!

Our # 736, found @ 14h30. It took a bit of scouting around to find the cache. Although the plastic bag was slightly wet, the container and contents were fine. The hole next to the hide position appears to be "inhabited".

Sent Mazimonkey into the tall grass and luckily she persevered and found it. Placed some of the log papers into another plastic - looks like the log had been doing some swimming lately.
I would really NEVER have come down this road. Thanks for the adventure.

Sorry about the delayed log entry....

Found this cache well after dark, had to stumble around in the pitch dark to find it!! Replaced the plastic bag cover, left a gemstone and a spider. According to T4A, there was a shortcut back to Sudwala Lodge, which we duly took - it had us go out through a security boom from the inside - bet they weren't expecting visitors from over the mountain!!
Thanks for a very interesting cache & route!!
