Night Shift II - Wartturm

Lest hier die original Logs aus dem Logbuch online.

Lest hier die Geschichte (mit Bildern), wie wir den Cache ausgebracht haben...

- Stage 2 and hint changed on Thu, Dec 26th 2003. Stage 2 hut was destroyed.

- Stage 1 and hint changed on Fri, Jan 3rd 2003 (the key had been gone)

- added some useful text on Mon, Jan 6th, 2003

- added pictures on Sun, Jan 12th, 2003

This five stage cache includes:

  • go to the Wartturm...
  • finding a reflecor and belonging information
  • finding a reflecting film canister with infomation
  • finding an active light source in the dark
  • following a chain of reflectors to the final extra large cache

Be prepared! Bring a good torch, spare batteries and spare light bulbs AND SOME SMALL TOOLS!

Go to the Wartturm (stage 1) at N 49 54.483 E 9 01.218 and do nothing. Former stage for key retrieval. It's a good idea to park at the tower.

Proceed to stage 2 at N 49 54.852 E 9 01.584 and look for a black pipe. It will lead you to further information. IMPORTANT: You will need SOME SMALL TOOLS here!!! Be prepared!

Stage 3 is a "standard" reflecting 35mm film canister containing important information.

At stage 4 you have to look for an active light! Please leave the light installation as is! It does not contain any information. Look for a real cache near the light! If you have questions how it works, please just ask!

At the final stage (5) you'll have to follow a chain of reflectors which will lead you to the final cache.

Advice: Coordinates for light and reflectors are only given roughly, so they purposely are not too precise. Searching and thinking is intended!

You should be able to solve the cache in about two to three hours. If you want us to we provide a phone number for online support! Just email Peter or me.

Please be aware that looking for this cache might be VERY difficult if there is snow or ice. Reflectors can't be spotted, are maybe frozen. And the light maybe under cover of snow and you might not be able to spot it at all.

Have fun!

Gerhard
