*START OF MESSAGE*
OK, You've cut your teeth on Mission One, this one's not
too different. Attempt this mission only after dark. It is highly recommended that you take a navigator to operate the guidance
equipment while you man the light emitting unit. To complete this assignment,
you'll need to draw the following from the quartermaster:
Mandatory Equipment:
- Tube, Light Emitting with fresh batteries
- A back-up Tube, Light Emitting with fresh batteries
- Receiver, Handheld Global Positioning Satellite,
with fresh batteries
Optional Equipment:
- Night Vision Goggles
- IR Flashlight
- Parachute
- Non-reflective camouflage face paint
Proceed to the coordinates provided, this is the insertion/extraction
point. It is preferred that you drop in at night by parachute, however, if one is not
available, get there utilizing whatever means are at your disposal. Power up and reset your GPSr now, you
will need to follow the unit's breadcrumb trail to find your way back! Parking
at the insertion point is tight, pull off the road as far as possible. The trailhead is a
large tree marked with glint-tape on two sides.
The trail is similarly marked with glint patches as
before. There are a couple intersections on the trail and you should be able to see the next
patch from the center of each. Shine your light down each trail, high and low, and look for
the reflection. The end of the trail is marked by a set of double patches. From the
double patches, shine your light around, the cache is marked as
well. Make absolutely sure that you've re-hidden the container correctly so that not only can
the next geohunter find it, but so that during the day it cannot be seen.
As with all tactical missions, the extraction will be the most
difficult. There are no glint-patches to guide you out. You must remember the way
or use the GPSr's breadcrumb trail to guide you. Counting your lefts and rights on the
way in will help. If you choose, bring popcorn
to drop on the ingress, you can follow them for egress. If you become lost,
captured, or killed, we will disavow any knowledge of you or your mission. Good luck, we're
all counting on you.
Remember to replace the cache
exactly as you found it.
Latest intel:
Operators in the field are not replacing the cache as they found it.
Please ensure you push the cache container way back up under the ferns to avoid
compromising our operations. Remember, the area is being used as a
recreation trail in the daytime, thus the cache must be hidden from view!
