Geocache Description:

As the stars indicate this cache may take multiple trips. The terrain is steep and varied so do your research and be safe. Special equipment is not required but you may want to bring a towel. The cache may not be accessible all the time due to changing conditions in the area. Most of all think before you get in over your head. Safety First!

There seems to be a curse associated with anything named Atlantis. They end up missing just like the real city of Atlantis. In an effort to keep the theme going I've hid this cache and named it appropiately. Partialy because of the actual curse and because of the curses that I'm sure will be aimed my way ; ) There are some rules to this cache to remember.

First: To log as a find you must sign the logbook.

Second: NO liquid items of any kind in the cache.

Third: Make sure the containers are sealed.

Fourth: Make doubly sure the cache is reattached properly and on the shelf.

Fifth: Check the water flow information at this website "American River at FairOaks" The info you're looking for is near the bottom of the linked page.

When I placed the cache the flow was at 1500 cfs. When Kevin and Susan found it the flow was at 2100 cfs. So I would say that is the max.

If there are any problems let me know as soon as possible. When placed I put some really good stuff in the ammo can.

  • Bushnell mini binoculars
  • Mini Maglight
  • 2 pocket knives
  • carabiner pen
  • misc toys and Tigger too.

    Missing caches:

    "Atlantis II The Treasure"

    "Road To Atlantis"

    "Atlantis"

I checked on the cache and it appears that the hillside and other conditions have increased the danger of going after this cache. The hillside is made up of compacted sand which erodes at different rates which contributed to the actual placement but now poses a threat. I'll archive the cache in about a month but until then feel free to post any interesting stories and spoilers that happened during your search. I still have to scan a few pics and I will attach them to this post. Thanks for the FUN!!!!
