Geocache Description:

#2 in the "Grave Situation" series. This has to be the most beautiful, if not oldest, cemetery in Iredell county. Some sites date back to the Civil War era! Located in almost the middle of Statesville. NO TRESPASSING from 9pm to 6am on cemetary grounds.

I have always enjoyed viewing "older" gravesites to view the markers, read the epitaphs, and pay homage to those there. Check out the nearby sites and look at some of the designs & dates listed on the markers.

Any sites you see with a Rebel flag planted next to them are soldiers from the Civil War! Also, make sure to look in & around bushes, you will find very old & beautiful gravestones.

To get credit for this cache, email me via my profile, Claudius M. Summers place of death and the age at which he passed. You may have to look at several headstones to find the correct one.

DO NOT POST THE ANSWERS, ENCRYPTED OR OTHERWISE, IN YOUR POST! Your find will be deleted if they are.

Before you go and find this cache, make sure to check back for any changes. I have some changes in mind for the cache and would hate for someone not to find this one!

Enjoy your visit here!
