Geocache Description:

Placed with Permission of the manager of the Observatory and with notification of campus security.

Located on the campus of the University of South Carolina. The higher terrain difficulty level is due to parking problems. There are also several benchmarks in the vicinity which you can also locate and log on your visit.

This cache is located near the Melton Memorial Observatory on the campus of the University of South Carolina. The Observatory is home to a 40cm Reflector Telescope and is open free of charge to the public every clear Monday Night year round. The hours are 8:30pm to 10:30 pm from October through April and 9:30pm to 11:30pm from May through September. Be sure to visit and get a glimpse of planets, nebulae, star clusters, galaxies and, of course, the Moon when visible.

The cache is a small container which contains a log and some
small stellar items for trading.

Please bring your own pen to sign the logbook.
