Stash container is a red cylinder approximately 10.5” x 6”.

Stash is located on Power Island. Once owned by the Henry Ford family, this island is now a nature preserve.

A few rustic camping sites are available on nearby Bassett Island, which is connected to Power Island by an isthmus. Camping reservations may be needed.

The location description below was found here..

Power Island Bowers Harbor, West Grand Traverse Bay, Traverse City • (231) 922-4818 Formerly known as Marion Island but recently renamed for philanthropist Eugene Power of Ann Arbor, this is a 205-acre island nature preserve in West Grand Traverse Bay just off Bower's Harbor. This island is one of the last undeveloped Great Lakes islands in close proximity to an urban area. It is filled with a beautiful stand of northern hardwoods, including beech, sugar maple, basswood and red oak, as well as more than 250 plant species. Wildlife includes red fox and bobcat who prey on such small mammals as the meadow vole, woodland deer mouse and short-tailed shrew. Bird-watchers will likely see the red-eyed vireo, American goldfinch, veery and bank and tree swallow. Approximately 11 miles of hiking trails weave through the island's interior. Due to Power Island's proximity to Traverse City, it is a popular boating and picnicking destination.

1145 hrs This may be one of Michigan's best kept secrets! The wind (out of SW) was a bit brisker than anticipated this morning so the crossing was a bit bumpy especially across the opening between the north end of the island and the tip of the peninsula. We gave up on the notion of landing on the west side of the island and made our way to the little dock on the east side (well protected from the winds). It was quite helpful to meet the park ranger and receive a little trail map of the island. After logging the cache on the SW corner of the Island we proceeded to make our way along the trail northward along the west shore of the Island. It was a great hike with a marvelous group of caching friends. After SL and leaving our various trinkets like signature wooden nickels we took pictures and enjoyed the view and cool SW breezes. Almost a perfect day for an adventure of this sort It combines all the best features of the game: boats, great hiking trails, and adventure in the outdoors! I enjoyed the hike up to and along the ridge of the Island, returning to the boat docks. We left our donation, chatted with the park ranger and moonrock611 left with two of our contingent, while I remained behind with Printmaster1952 to catch the 2nd shuttle. The return trup was also quite bumpy and wet but we had rain slickers and managed to stay fairly dry. Thanks for keeping this oldie/goodie alive!

This was the second cache the NCOG (North Central Ohio Geocachers) team tackled today after a wet and bumpy ride across the choppy water to Power Island. The trip north was planned around finding the two oldest caches in Michigan with GC35 being the first. It's nice to see that these older caches are still active and being maintained. As TeamBobcats mentioned in his log, the Ohio Jasmer Challenge is one that I hope to complete in the near future, so visiting this one has been in the works for awhile. This cache also was a milestone for me personally, being my 1,800th cache find. Thanks for keeping this great cache active and for giving me an extra reason to visit this scenic island. Left my signature Captainwilly wooden nickel. TFTF!!

This has been on my watchlist ever since the Jasmer Challenge, Ohio edition was released. Made the trip up with CaptPhil, CaptainWilly, Moonrock611 and Printmaster1952 from Central Ohio. Had a real nice hike around the island but was a little bumbed we didn't see any wildlife. We did however have a nice chat with the park ranger and his wife. Thanks for keeping this cache active as now I only need to find 4 more caches hidden in months from 2000 to complete the challenge.

Made the trip across the water today for the 2 island caches. No one else here but us and the ranger/wife. Managed to get soaked and it is rather cold but had a great time with this, thanks.
