This event is such a knock-off of Phil's Fantastic Fall Folly, it's only proper to cut-and-paste his directions:
The above coordinates are to the parking lot at Evangeline Camp. This is off Mecena Rd which is off of Hwy 28 West in Central La. From the parking lot the primitive camping area is about a 2 minute hike in. When you start down the trail, it will fork off just a few hundred feet in. Take the left fork and head downhill. You will see the camp area straight ahead.
The next set of coordinates are for those with off road vehicles who want to drive in: 31° 13.860N and 092° 36.582. A truck -non four-wheel drive- can make it. When you drive in the road and the trail forks, stay to right. Look for the topo to go downhill. You will know you are headed in the right way.
The schedule for this event is currently extremely loose (no schedule as of yet). Tune into the thread in the Groundspeak Forums' South and Southeast forum for discussion. This cache page will be updated with any activities that may become "official." Any and all suggestions are not only welcome, but requested.
Also, please log your intent to attend on this cache page and/or the discussion group thread. It never hurts to get an idea of how many are coming!
UPDATE 3/4/2003:
To date, 10 or 11 people have confirmed with a positive intent to intend. 8 or 9 more are iffy/probably/maybe. It looks like we'll have a good turn out!
There are currently 2 activities planned and at least one cache to be placed in the area. The two events are a 'Poker-Run' style multi-cache-event, and a crawfish boil.
Prepare yourself for good fun, good food, good people, and weather permitting... good camping!
