This hunt requires a visit to three different sites of related interest and then a quick trip to a nearby non-National Park Service location to find the cache. The cache location by itself would hardly be a challenge but given the lack of approved green space in DC, it will have to do. The 3 locations haven't been within walking distance of each other since the Civil War.
To find the cache location, you will need to find some information and translate letters to numbers using the formula A=1, B=2, etc. Plug the numbers into this coordinate: N38 FF.CDE W77 0A.A92 (Cache Coordinates.)
Part One - Find a stone at the coordinates listed above. There is a paragraph in the middle of the listed information (ignore the bottom line.) Take the last letter in the paragraph, use the formula on this letter and assign it to "A" in the cache coordinates.
N38 57.050 W77 04.657 - Part Two - Find another stone at these coordinates. Again take the last letter in the paragraph in the middle (ignore the line on the bottom,) apply the formula to this letter, multiply by 10 and assign it to "CDE" in the cache coordinates.
N38 55.778 W77 05.646 - Part Three - On a man made "stone" you will see the letters MBC followed by two words. Take the 4th letter in either word, apply the formula to the letter and assign the number to "F" in the cache coordinates.
