Find #2982 at 3:57 pm. We joined forces with Dehoopster and VJ24 for the North West County Tour (NWCT). The purpose of the tour was to complete the Lower Peninsula of Michigan as well as find Geocache 612 (Michigan's 2nd oldest active cache). We signed the log NWCT to save time and space on the log.

Well this cache was the last one needed to complete the Lower Peninsula of Michigan. This was a great way to complete the Lower Peninsula. Thanks for keeping this cache active. TFTCSL

On a NW county tour with johngie and dehoopster and a great fall day for caching. Out getting the last counties I need to complete the lower peninsula. This is a cache that was on my to do list for quite a long time. Finally made it out this way to make the find of this very old cache. Stopped to take a few pictures and we were on our way. This cache is in the last county I needed to complete finding a cache in every lower peninsula county so it was fitting that it was this cache that got it done! Thanks for keeping this one maintained. North/South road was in surprising good shape. Johngie's new paint job got a little dirty to say the least. TFTC!!!!

1:10 p.m...Heading north to TC and knocking off counties as we go, Kalkaska done! I was so excited to do this one, it being the second oldest cache in Michigan. Very historic! We turned off M72 onto Blue Lake Rd and the fun began. Got to put the Jeep in 4x4 mode and got dirrrty. We passed only one other truck on our way to this one. Ended up parking about 400 feet away and hiked in the rest of the way. Odd to find two containers here, one of them only had a pencil. Signed the log anyway and TNLN. Thanks for a great adventure!
