WOW, WHAT A WEEKEND!
With water dripping from their faces, these hardy geocachers from Connecticut, New York and New Jersey gathered in the midst of the liquid sunshine to share their common love for this sport. Undaunted by the weather they smiled, chatted, and bar-b-cued up a storm. Although some of the field games had to be cancelled, the event went off with smashing success thanks to the unbreakable spirit of those present.
I want to personally thank everyone for coming and for your unbounded generosity. There was certainly no shortage of food, some of which obviously took a great deal of time to prepare. Even those items that were barely touched because of the bounty were very much appreciated. The Travel Bug Cage was filled to everflowing with all kinds of creatures trying to break free. Happily they are all on their way now to new cache sites. There was only one medical emergency and that was Cachedog's dog who had previously cut his foot. I was glad to lend assistance to pamper the poor pooche's punctured paw. I also want to thank the young children whose unstoppable energy and smiles brought some sunshine to our hearts if not to the skies.
JUST IMAGINE what this event can be like with sunny weather. Hopefully next year's event will have clear skies and be bigger and better than ever. Keep your eyes open for:
