Geocache Description:

We named this cache in honor of John Muir who first climbed this easy peak in 1877.
There's a Sierra Club register at the summit.

Hike to Inspiration Point shelter (see picture) at N 34° 13.295 W118° 06.559. There are several approaches, all on good trails. Try Sam Merrill trail (which branches off the Echo Mountain trail), or Sunset Ridge trail, or hike over from the Wilson Road via Mueller Tunnel and Markham Saddle. From Inspiration Point a faint (but easy) trail will get you up to the peak. Enjoy the view! It's a moderate hike so have snacks, sunscreen, and water along.

Cache size is 2½ x 4 x 4. Original contents: log, pencil, geocaching letter, utility multi- tool, carabiner, popcorn coupon, small scissors, bottle opener, taxi keychain light, nail puzzle, whistle.
