This cache has been archived.

Krypton: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

Hey all you doggie lovers! This is a geocache for you and your pup to enjoy together! :-)

This geocache is located in one of the best doggie play areas in the Bay Area....no, we think it is the BEST doggie play area in the WORLD! It is located right on the coast in San Francisco where an old military fort used to reside. It has now been turned into a park with lots of trails to hike along and access down to the beach where Fido can run and play leash free in the sand and water with his other doggie friends. We are always amazed at how many different breeds of dogs there are roaming through this park, and dogs have always been very well behaved.

Even though this is a busy area, we were able to find a location here that is some what secluded for the hiding of this cache. This cache is a doggie cache with various doggie toys included in it, and it is encased in a green ammo box. The original contents of this cache are a floatable dumb bell toy, a nylabone, a tennis ball with a nylon chord attached, a floppy frisbee, a squeeky octopus toy, log book, and Funston the Booda Dog Travel Bug. Although the original contents of this cache are doggie toys, it is not necessary to leave doggie related items, but if you have some to leave, that would be great!

The cache is located .5 miles from the main parking lot at N37° 42.899 W122° 30.111. You can also approach the cache from a road side trail at N37° 43.139 W122° 30.042.

Although dogs are allowed to run leash free, there are areas in the park that are roped off to keep people and doggies out. Please make sure your pup does not get into these areas, as there is flora and fauna living in these natural habitats that the park is trying to preserve.

After finding the cache, take Fido for a walk along the trails or head down to the beach. On a beautiful day, you can see hangliders take off close to remnants of the old fort and fly high above the beach. We hope that you and your pup enjoy this wonderful puppy play group park!

****12/04 PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE RE-HIDE THE CACHE AS YOU FIND IT BY MAKING SURE IT IS HIDDEN FROM PLAIN SIGHT! (or if found out in the open, hide it so others passing by won't see it in plain view). We have come out several times throughout the year and have found the cache out in the open. Please help by re-hiding it well so it doesn't get plundered. Thanks for your help.****
