Bledisloe Rush aka Ferntree Reserve
This was a bit of a speed cache place as I didn't have a chance to get out to the locations I had in mind. It seems like a nice enough place though :)
GPS coverage is patchy, so I will give some more details. Find the clearing that the path goes through near the co-ordinates. Look down towards the stream and you will see a tree with a greater diameter trunk than the others, and a few ground ferns around. The cache is buried nearby, but is marked. Good Luck!
This is a letterboxing hybrid. The idea is that you take a notebook to caches you visit, and perhaps your own stamp and ink pad. There is also a stamp and ink pad in the cache. You use the caches stamp in your logbook, and stamp your stamp in the caches logbook. The ink pads and stamps are not exchanged. This way you build up your own logbook or passport of caches you have visited.
Sorry there is not much loot in the cache. It was all I had in the car. This cache didn't have a lot of planning beforehand :) I will make amends next time I return south!
Overall Difficulty: The cache is buried but marked with small crossed sticks. Access is very easy from the road. GPS Coverage is patchy under the trees.
Terrain Difficulty: Easy, slight slope. Not far to walk. A little bit rougher around the cache.
Container: The container is a 2.6L snap-lock rectangular container that has been camo-painted, and has the word GEOCACHE painted on the top in yellow.
