Gosnells Hills area. Slippery Gravel beware and take a drink with
you. Binocculars would be good too.
Top-O-the Hill. You will find this cache in the area of Gosnells
Hills. We were coming home on the train from the city and could see
a huge un-housed hill. We wondered what could be up there. So we
went driving and walking and found it a fascinating park. We would
suggest doing this cache in the morning as the hill will shade you
when you walk up it.
We have identified 2 good places to park. We chose these because
they offered some degree of protection for your car or a reasonable
walk in.
The first one is where we parked. Turner road right near an
entrance to the park and opposite houses, by far the safer option
for your car. S 32.06.195 E 116.01.526 Altitude 34 meters.
The second we didn’t try but we are sure it goes though.
Mills road just near the brake fail gravel ramp. Go in through the
gated track. Not as secure for your car but it may be a more level
track in. S 32.05.277 E 116.01.919 Altitude is 153 meters
If you take the way in from Turner road you can follow the tracks
up to the disused Viaduct. S 32.05.971 E 116.01.759 and at
128meters altitude. We aren’t sure where the viaduct went
from or to but we will try to find out the information. (unless
someone else knows and tells us before)
When you get to the Viaduct you can follow the path along above it.
It’s a nice easy path and is almost level.
At S 32.05.805 E 116.01.698 There is a track to the right heading
uphill. This is the track you will need to find to get to the
cache. It’s a slippery gravel track and is steep. A short way
up this track take the left fork and then follow your GPS from here
to find the cache.
You are now at 168 meters so you have climbed about 134 meters. It
seems higher. We would suggest taking a bit of food to eat and a
drink. Make sure you sit and rest and if you have some shoes suited
to slippery gravel we would suggest using them. We found Sneakers
weren’t ideal.
If you come in from the other way (Mills road) it may be easier,
but it will also be longer. We didn’t explore this direction
but someone walking his dog said he had just walked in from there.
No guarantees on that one. Just make sure you take the correct
track above the Viaduct. Coordinates (S 32.05.805 E
116.01.698)
Cache contains a few things. First one there gets a “First
Finders Certificate” and there is an engraved lighter. Plus a
few other things typical of caches.
We hope you like the walk even if it is a hard one. Lyn Pat and
Nathan.

November 9, 2009 by Zodiakhorizon (515 found) Could it be possible that I walked in from a completely different direction that wasnt mentioned in the description?? Sadly I do have a knack for making geocaching harder than it should be.Outside bag is now completely demolished, but contents of the cache are still dry and the lack of funky smell would say that it wasnt just that it was 30 degrees today. Great views, looking at previous pictures since the fire has been through a large amount of the burnt out trees have fallen making it an even clearer view. TFTC TNLNSL

July 11, 2009 by AlliedOz (388 found) Phew! and thats about all I can say at this point in time, thats one heck of a climb, and it does not help when you decide to put the GPS away and wing it for a while, we walked past the correct path and kept heading up up, and then back down down to get on the right path.Sensational Views from the cache, the stark contrast of the lush green side of the track that was spared the fire and the blackened bush with the tips of green poking out here and there as life starts to recover in a flourish after the blaze. Always great info in the cache descriptions from LP&N so the cache did not stand a chance. The ziplock bag is nothing more then shredded plastic at this point, but the cache is in good condition and dry inside. The cache note was on the outside and is totalled and unreadable. Took some small boats and left a Horse. Dropped off JushKaroki GeoKids Singapore GC Thanks for the cache up here and the hike, we got out 30 minutes today +++ AlliedOz aka The Jokers

June 21, 2009 by Me&B (374 found) What lovely views of the suburbs. One feels 'on top of the world', all alone with mother nature (and little B of course), sitting there on a sunny sunday afternoon...There has been a fire going through but luckily it stopped on the other side of the track. The first wild flowers are coming out already. I did this cache after 'Let me be your Sherpa...' and I am glad I did....I thought the hill on the side was tough to climb for an old unfit chook..I was glad I didn't decide to do this one first! But it was still good fun, very relaxing indeed... The cache is still in good condition and dry although the bag has deteriorated and is all split. So Lyn, if Pat has been naughty and needs a little punishment....send him up there to fix it :-) Thanks guys....TFTH TNLN

July 11, 2008 by mackerals (307 found) Came in off Mills rd near the Truck run off. Nice quiet walk and came across some kangaroos on the way through. Cache was a bit damp inside so we dried out and placed whole cache box in a zip lock bag. Took wiggles water toy. Left water pistol. TFTC
