They call Northeast Oklahoma "Green Country". This cache will take
you on a little trip through the woods hoping to remind you to keep
it "green".
This area will prove to become quite green and overgrown as spring
approaches although it was mostly white outside when it was placed.
If you look close you can pick up one of many animal trails to make
your trek a little easier. There are plenty of birds in this area,
and by the tracks in the snow, plenty of mammals as well. You may
even catch a group of ducks swimming along a nearby creek.
There are two places to park nearby and you will notice a now
mostly unused equestrian facility that was once used by the Tulsa
Police. You may enter the area past the white gate on foot, but
please don't block the gate to the area. You will also see a
"hog-wire" fence line but stay on the park side of that fence
please!
Inside a green ammo can you will find many green or green related
items. Even some of the green that everyone loves. Inside you will
find a few bags to carry out any trash you may find, even if the
trash is green. I encourage you to bring something green to trade
in return.
As April approaches and things become green, I also encourage you
to participate in an Earth Day event. Look for a TAG earth day
event coming soon.
Please Note: It is not required and NOT advised
to take a short cut to the cache. There is an easy way to get to it
that doesn't require you to do a balancing act.

Some "Cache in Trash Out" items removed from the area.
The area
OK, so it wasn't that green right now. I'd like to see some photos of the area in a few months.

January 24 by twinjayhawks (787 found) 4:52GP I found the other one in the area so I decided to walk a little further and see what is up with this cache. We had to cross the creek but found it easily. I am not sure where it was located originally, but there is almost no way it could get flooded out where it is now. The cache is in good shape. December 8, 2009 by Lacknothing (1389 found) Down from Wisconsin for meetings and decided to get some excersize by geocaching. Nice park.I did not read the logs ahead of time, so do not wish to get in the middle of anything, but did find the cache. Everything is dry inside. Dropped off a trackable. This cache should be pretty safe from muggles, had to cross the creek to reach it and kicked up several deer in the process. Thanks for everyone's efforts, I enjoyed the hike.

November 18, 2009 by beatnik (2213 found) Yes, I'm an idiot DRZA, that's why the cache has been there in perfect condition for 6 years. Seriously don't come at me with your 15 finds and tell me how to hide caches. Someone, probably pornstarrunner by his log, didn't put the cache back in the right location. So you found it in the creek, good for you. Then maybe you should have posted a needs maintenance log instead of risking your neck for a smilely. Then I could go out and fix the problem. No instead you choose to be an ass and call me names. Feel free to apologize but don't preach to me the rules of how geocaching should be done.

November 14, 2009 by DRZA (41 found) I found the cache while with jmhtz4714. The cache had washed downstream about 50 yards away (north) from the coordinates past the log in which you cross the creek and I found it in the middle of the stream on a pile of debris in which jmhtz4714 risked his life to retrieve by standing on the debris (over the water) and using a stick to get it out. Even though the cache was in an ammo box contents were still wet (because they were floating down the stream). We removed all of the most damaged items and threw them away. beatnik you are an idiot if you think the cache was not going to float away while on the ground, 1st rule of hiding caches in flood areas place cache above the flooding or chain them to the tree. While jmhtz4714 did place the cache in the tree out of the flood area it could not have been seen by muggles unless they were really looking for it (like placing it on the ground without any cover could not have been seen by muggles). If you are going to hide a cache please be smart about it and keep it above flood levels. If you want visual proof were the cache was found I will post a picture of where it was found.

November 14, 2009 by beatnik (2213 found) Arrggh! Why must people move caches. This cache is most definitely NOT supposed to be at eye level. It was probably right where it should have been in a pile of debris for the last six years. If you think the cache is off report a maintenance request and let the owner check, don't move the cache. By making it eye level you have now made the cache possibly visible to muggles and in danger of being lost.
