Located in York River State Park off the Mattaponi hiking trail.
York River State Park is located just a few miles off I-64. Exit at Croaker, VA and follow the signs to the park.
BEWARE: Park is closed to all visitors on December 6, 7, 8, 2003 for wildlife management. There is a $3 charge for parking (often on the honor system). The park is popular with bikers, so be aware if you are hiking on a bike trail, although hikers have the right-of-way. Bikers must wear helmets.
The walk from the parking area is about 2/3 of a mile along varied trail. In the beginning, it is a wide, graveled trail. Nearer the cache, you will need to leave the trail and continue through the woods. You may also wish to access this cache via small watercraft from the nearby river.
Please obey the posted regulations if you visit nearby Fossil Beach Area. Do not remove fossils or artifacts. No swimming.
Cache is a standard size ammo box. Please close and re-latch when done.
