The cache is located near destroyed bunkers of Leipasuo fortified
area.
This cache will be covered with snow in winter! Leipasuo
fortified area consisted of seven concrete bunkers, from Le1 to
Le7, which guarded the railway to Viipuri (Vyborg). During the
Soviet-Finnish war 1939-1940 Soviet Army tried to get through
Finnish strongholds. The bunkers were heavily damaged, but the
Finns stood up to the attacks and the frontline remained intact up
to the end of the war.There are a lot of concrete strongpoint
remainings, barbed wire obstacles, etc. Most of them are heavily
damaged, but you could see a lot of interesting things. The cache
is a 1-liter plastic box. Also this is one of the first geocaches
in Russia and the first in Northwestern region. It was destroyed
for some years, but now it is restorated.
