This event cache is part of the Cache In-Trash Out Earth Day cleanup.
Poe Valley State Park is nestled on top of Seven Mountains a nice location for all those in the central Pennsylvania area. The coordinates listed above are approximate, when I have a chance to visit the park, I will update them. The ranger suggested I wait a week or so, the road in is icy right now. I plan on meeting at the park office. They are going to supply us with trash bags for the clean up, and if enough people are available, we may do some trail work or something else.
We will be doing some cleanup of litter around the lake and streams. They are going to reserve a pavalion for us to use after the clean up for a picnic. I am looking at the possibility of also placing a permanent cache at the park and making it available the day of the event.
Depending on the number of people planning to attend, we could do more. If you're planning on attending, please post a note below stating how many will be coming with you. If you have any suggestions, feel free to email them to me.
I KNEW I was forgetting something...This is going to be on Saturday April 26, 2003. Meeting time is yet to be established, but it'll be sometime in the morning, and hopefully we can spend the afternoon caching/picnining.
UPDATE: The snow has melted and I finally had time to actually visit the park. I've updated the coordinates, not a big change, but the new coordinates were taken standing in front of the park office. The old ones were a little past the turn off for the office. There's not much parking at the office, but hopefully we'll have a sign or something there saying where to park and meet. Considering that it's turkey season, I guess it would be best if we to wait until Noon to start showing up at the park. We can take a little time to meet each other and get organized. Then around 1:00 PM, after the hunters are all out of the woods, start the cleanup.
