Trail is open from sunrise to sunset--and sunsets here are beautiful!
Entire trail is less than a half mile and is a combination of packed dirt and boardwalks over a marshy area. You can start your walk from either trail entrance from the parking area. Recommend doing the whole trail for a nice walk. There are some briars that you may you may have to step over or under and poison ivy that is present in the spring/summer months. Be careful kids!
1/2/05***UPDATE**** Happy New Year! It's been over a year since Hurricane Isabel closed this trail, but now there is a new boardwalk to take you there. Thanks CacheJackets for checking it out for me. The cache is now reopened
Bring insect repellent. Parts of the trail can be a bit muddy. Dogs on leash are allowed. Fishing is allowed with a license. If you have a boat, there's a boat ramp here as well.
Cache is a standard size ammo box.
Hope you enjoy our first cache placement!
