Follow the main trail that runs closest to the water. (the trails are unmarked but if you follow the shoreline you will wind up where you need to be) After about ¾ mile you will snake around the back of the reservoir and the trail will narrow to a path through heavy brush. From here, use your GPS….you’re on your own!
If you follow the trails, the terrain isn’t too bad…it’s rocky and uneven but well cleared. If you decide to go it your own way and follow the GPS you are in for some bushwacking.
The cache (a black .50 caliber ammo can) is well hidden with rocks about 100 feet from the trail. The trails are heavily traveled but I took some time to find a less popular area with the mountain bikers and fisherman. The cache is off the beaten path so there shouldn’t be too many people around, just the same…please be as covert as possible
