Pollution Solution Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Hemlock: I noticed this cache which is temporarily disabled. To me temporary means a couple of months or less. This cache has been under the weather for a year. While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you and block other cachers from entering the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time I don't think we can do so any longer. Therefore, I have archived this cache.

When/if this cache is replaced, please email me at hemlock@geocachingadmin.com and I'll be more than happy to take a look at your cache again. If it is still is within the guidelines for cache placement and posting, it will then be unarchived.

I want to thank you for the time that you have taken to contribute to geocaching in the past and am looking forward to seeing your cache up and running in the future.

Thanks for your understanding,
Hemlock

Geocache Description:

This little area is very sad and needs some help. The area I am talking about is where you would park to find this quick cache and dash, hopefully all of you will do some cache in and trash out.

It looks like the actual cache container is gone, but this area still needs some TLC. The surrounding area is such a nice place it boggles the mind why some people CHOOSE to dump their garbage here!!!!
I would still like to call attention to this area and turn it into a (virtual) cache in trash out (CITO) cache. Not just an event for a day or weekend but into a perpetual event.
Just post a picture of yourself holding a bag of trash (at least a grocery bag size or bigger), the sign (Pollution Solution) and your GPS and go ahead and claim this as a find.
Remember treat Mother Nature better than your friends, because we all know how treat your friends.
Mahalo and Aloha.

Please disregard the text below. It describes the original physical cache, now it is a virtual.

We had parked in this area to do a weekend backpack trip up the Santa Paula Creek. In this little turn out there was a sign posted (I wish I had brought a camera) that read “Pollution Solution, DON’T LITTER”. Unfortunately the sign has had the opposite effect. There is trash everywhere, from an old mattress to an old water heater and everything in between has been dumped off there. We picked up a couple of plastic grocery bags of trash and took them to dispose of them properly.

So when you go for this cache please bring a trash bag and help out, Mother Nature and our descendants will thank you for leaving it a better place than when you arrived.

The cache container is your standard peanut butter jar sans peanut butter. You should be able to park within about 30-40 feet of the cache.
