This cache involves a vertical climb of 1000 feet over a distance
of 6/10ths of a mile.
There are two ways to get to this cache. You can trust your GPS and
scramble over a steep, boulder strewn section with few paths, or
you can first pay a visit to "John Hancock" by Sixdognight and
follow your GPS from that point. It is easier to access this by way
of "John Hancock." This cache is in a coffee can and contains (as
of 4/21/03) a Star Wars toy, $1, and some other small items. Be
sure to wear hiking boots. The cache is not very hard to find. Good
luck!

January 16, 2009 by LUCKYSTRIKE1 (2342 found) #1804 I found the rusted out coffee can today, but not the small tupperware container that gcsandia had found back in July. I packed up the rusty mess and brought back with me to get rid of it once and for all. I'll post some photos of the rusty, gross, soggy cache contents. I think it's time to put this one to rest since the owner hasn't done any maintanance and hasn't logged in to the geocaching site since October of 2007. Thanks for the fun...I guess?? Didn't sign the log because it was soggy!!

July 13, 2008 by gcsandia (63 found) We found a tupperware cache and signed the log, then noticed the old coffee can cache about 30' NE in the bottom of a little arroyo. The tupperware cache was in good shape. However, it was hidden in a location that was very difficult to get to. Coordinates were pretty accurate but to actually get to the cache I had to trim back a spiky yucca with my pocket knife and have my daughter hold back tree limbs while I slid down to the cache location. I thought about moving the cache a few feet to a more accessible location but ended up putting it back where I found it. The coffee can cache was a real mess! The lid is pretty much gone and the can was full of rusty mud. It contained some plastic bags there were full of the same rusty glop. There was one small rolled up piece of paper outside the bags that was apparently the log entry left by Cache U, the last finder. I thought about hiking the coffee can out but it was such a mess I didn't want to put it in my pack and decided to leave the clean up for the cache owner.

April 22, 2008 by Cache U (2727 found) Came at this straight from "Between a rock and a hard place" and trusted my GPSr. Not too bad of a scramble. The cache is indeed a mess, waterlogged and very rusty. I left a makeshift log in there, although it will be useless after the next big rainstorm. If I had been thinking I would have brought up a new cache container. Maybe the next cacher to do this will be prepared...

November 20, 2007 by Steve, Ginger, and Kids (1975 found) The cache is where it is supposed to be but the top of the coffee can is broken up and contents are either rusted or sodden.
