ZOOMZOOM HYSTERIA GRIPS THE GEOCACHING WORLD CACHE Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

The GO! Team: Sorry folks but I am sad to say that I am done with this one.
The great sea in one of her giant storms that hit our coast stole this cache from its hiding spot a few months ago, and completely destroyed the hiding spot too.

I had found something that I wanted to use to hide as the new replacement, but I really could find no feasible way to anchor it without maiming a part of nature. I was not comfortable with going to that extreme to keep this cache going, so I am letting this spot go free to the next hider to place something in.

Whoever hides here next be careful, it's a tricky spot to hide in because of muggles, giant waves, and the private golf club.

So with that another TEAM cache bites the dust, but it had a great run!!

In order to keep quality items in caches, please state what you removed from the cache and what you put into it when you log it on our cache page.

Presume all compass bearings are TRUE. USE 19 DEG. EAST DECLINATION.

Please note: 19 deg. East declination is only applicable on a small portion of Vancouver Island, as declination varies with distance, and is constantly changing as the magnetic pole is constantly drifting.

So, in most cases, “TRUE” North wouldn’t really be “TRUE”, as it would vary depending on location. However if we all use 19 deg. declination, then we will all be looking at the same thing.

Make sure you are well away from metal objects, when using any compass. At least 20 meters from a car and one half a meter from a wrist watch.

Cheap compasses won’t ‘cut’ it. You need to see individual degrees.

This is about all you can expect from a compass!
