A SHORT HISTORY OF GEOCACHING AT HOWE FARM:
The first Howe Farm Cache(September 5th, 2001) was the creation of W7WT, who was one of the first geocachers in Kitsap County. His first cache creation was at Bataan Park(August 30th, 2001), which is nearby his home. The Bataan Park and Howe Farm Cache I, were adopted by Fledermaus and Mntrken2001 in 2002.
From time to time, you might meet W7WT and his wife out there on the road, roaming from place to place in their camper-van, picking up the occasional cache now and then. So, just in case you run into this guy, stop and say hello to one of the "Old Timers" of geocaching and swap some caching stories with him.
BTW, The very first person to find a cache in this park, when Howe Farm Cache - I was owned by W7WT, was AJETPILOT on September 10th, 2001.
Starting September 4, 2006 until completion, Howe Farm will undergo a transformation in it's Western half, to include a Paved Parking Lot, Restrooms, a fenced-in off-leash Dog Park and much more. |
