Geocache Description:

A good long hike of a little over 10 miles from Lang Ranch with well over 1,000 ft of elevation gain. This is a great cache for mountain bikers.

Welcome to Trogdor the Burninator’s First Geocache! This spot has some one of the best views in Simi Valley. We’ve been calling this Spot “The Swing Gate” because of the Spring loaded Gate built for equestrians which allowed riders to pass through without dismounting. When the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy got authority of the surrounding area the gate at the road was removed, but the “swing gate” remained.

Prior to our finding out about Geocaching, Trogdor and our training friends have used this area to cache drinking water. The water was for emergency use for those days where we might have used more of our water than expected on really hot days. Our rules of the water cache are: Use what you need, but you must replace what you used.
