Geocache Description:

The Hayward Park area was named after William Hayward who owned a large amount of land in the area. To the Northwest across the parking lot you will find a K mart, Michael's Art Supplies and an AAA office.

To the South the Cal-92 freeway passes over the train tracks. You can tell how long someone has lived in San Mateo if they know that the Freeway was called the 19th Avenue Freeway when it was being built. Until the Freeway was built traffic from the San Mateo – Hayward Bridge emptied onto 3rd Av. and Foster City was just a mud flat.

Please be carefull to replace the cache back in it's color coordinated location as it is very exposed and visible from many directions.

This cache is also part of the CalTrain - Weekend Trains (GCJQMD) Multi-Cache.
