Come and join this one day on-the-water event multi cache!
Please plan on checking in and starting your journey between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 15.
We have made it so this cache, that might be a tough find under normal circumstances, is right within your reach!
The check-in point is at the coordinates listed above. Here we will have you sign a waiver, fit you for a PFD (personal floatation device), assign you a boat and give you some basic canoe or kayak instruction.
Then it's onto the lake to paddle your way around through the various points of this multi-cache. Plan on this taking approximately between 30 - 60 minutes on the water.
Once you've found the cache, you can head back to the check-in point to return your boat for the next round of paddlers.
So, we put out the cache. We have the boats that you can use. We'll give you some basic paddling instructions (this is not meant to be a canoe or kayak class, only very basic instruction will be offered). Everyone is welcome; we don't want anything to hold you back!
On hand all day will be the new Cleveland Metroparks Adaptive Paddling Specialist. What does this mean? It means that if you have any personal obstacles that might inhibit your paddling ability, it is this person's job to help you adapt the sport to your ability. If you think that you might need assistance from our Adaptive Paddling Specialist, please contact Jeremy or April at the Institute of the Great Outdoors (216)341-1704 before June 10. There is no fee for this service.
Registration for this event is only necessary for groups with 6 or more people in their party. If you plan to attend with 6 or more people, please contact us at geocaching@clevelandmetroparks.com with the number of people in your party and your first choice for time of arrival.
There will be a cache container at the final stage of this event multi-cache. It is not necessary to bring anything to leave behind, but there will be things for you to take.
