Geocache Description:

This is NOT a "take a trinket/leave a trinket" cache. Instead, LEAVE a Sketch and TAKE a look at the others!

This cache is the re-birth of the Carquinez Sketchbook Cache. We left a camoflaged large ammo can with:

  • a set of Colored pencils
  • a set of Pastels
  • a box of Crayons
  • a sketch pad
  • a pencil sharpener
  • a can of 'spray on' protective coating stuff.
  • A geocaching welcome letter
  • All of the drawings from the old Carquinez Sketchbook Cache.

Please do not take any of this stuff. Instead take a crack at leaving some art for others to see. Or, you can bring your own media, or bring a computer generated picture 8-1/2x11 and add it to the collection. We placed the cache in a picturesque spot that gets few visitors. After you find the cache, walk over toward the bay and sit on the log or rock above the road. Be sure to cover the cache with the materials on the ground there, to keep it a little better hidden.

There is no tradional log in this cache. You can make your log on your sketch, or write on the back. Or not. You decide!

Dogs are OK here, they will love it. Wear shoes, not sandals! Long pants are a good option, but shorts won't keep you from the cache. It can be cool and windy here when it is hot in the rest of the bay area.

The Carquinez Sketchbook pictures are on-line at our web site, at: http://members.aol.com/paulwhy1/geocache.html.
1/18/03 Update: I scanned in most of the pictures from this cache and they are on-line at our web site: CLICK HERE and you will go there.

Enjoy! Team PaulWhy
