Note: The hike to this cache could be considered a "long walk" although the terrain is simple. Make sure to allow yourself enough time.
The Trout Trot takes place in Forestville/Mystery Cave State Park. The South Branch of the Root River runs through the park, along with three spring fed creeks: Forestville Creek, Canfield Creek, and North Branch Creek.
Parts of the park are open to public hunting. The cache IS NOT located where hunting is permitted and you DO NOT need to enter this area to access the cache.
Reminder: A state park vehicle permit is required. Cost is either $4 for a daily permit or $20 for an annual permit. Park Headquarters: N 43° 38.044', W 092° 13.549'
