Precarious
This is my first virtual cache and is paired with a traditional cache very close nearby. I came across this on the way to the location of Cavernous. I was almost tempted to place the cache intended for there at this location. In the end I decided that this one would be more suited to a virtual cache.
Directions as per Cavernous. Take the same path until you see a sign to a lookout/viewpoint directing you up and to the right. Satellite coverage will be hopeless, so save your batteries until you emerge from the bush and head out onto the rocks.
The waypoint/geocache is near (2-3m) the edge for a fantastic view. For obvious reasons don't go too close to the edge. Read the warning signs.
I thought the view was absolutely fantastic!
Terrain Difficulty: Easy and hard. Flat walking tracks, large rocks to make your way over. It is easy most of the way but requires scrambling in places.
Risks: Beware of the following: -
- Not reading warning signs!
- Bloodthirsty insects
- Icey roads
- Rock ledges, shingle and rocks
- Shingle Roads
